Nursing Conversations 1 — Handover & SBAR Communication BE

The language of clinical handover — clear, structured, and complete communication at every shift change.

Why handover language matters

Effective clinical handover is one of the highest-risk moments in patient care. Information lost in a poor handover can result in delayed treatment, medication errors, or missed deterioration. SBAR — Situation, Background, Assessment, Recommendation — is the gold standard structure, and this exercise practises the language of using it confidently and completely.
